Curative Properties
The mature fruit is used with pepper and rock salt as a throat swab on inflamed tonsils to draw out phlegm. The juice mixed with sugar of Barossa's flabellifer and sugar cane juice is given for chronic cough and asthma.

Scientific name :Withania somnifera

Curative Properties
The powdered root is taken as an aphrodisiac for consumption. A special preparation is made along with other drugs for treating insanity, apoplexy and nervous diseases. The plant has milk coagulating properties and can be used for cheese - making. It is also an insecticide.

Curative Properties
The fruits are credited with laxative, stomachic, tonic and alterative properties. The fruit pulp is used as a dentifrice to cure bleeding and ulceration of gums. The dried powdered fruit is given for diabetes, sore throat and for blood purification

Curative Properties
The roots as well as the bark are used in the form of a decoction as a remedy in melancholia, intermittent fevers and palpitation of the heart. In pharmacological trials, as in the case of fruits, the root has exhibited anti-amoebic and hypoglycaemic properties.

Curative Properties
Histopathological studies indicated the retardative effect of garlic on the development of atherosclerosis, hypocholesterolemic and ntiatherosclerotic effect. The volatile oil, d-allyl mercaptocystein and d-methylmercaptocysteine were found to possess hepatoprotective activity. Garlic extracts prevented the formation of thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances and fluorescent substances during lipid peroxidation of rat liver microsomes and thus permitted the maintainance of membrane fluidity.

This plant has been used as a demulcent, diuretic, aphrodisiac, and galactogouge.

Scientific name :Azadirachata indica

Curative Properties
A strong decoction of the fresh leaves has antiseptic properties and is used for washing wounds. It is also used for ulcers and childbirth. It is a useful insecticide as well. A decoction of the root bark along with other ingredients is given for typhoid fever. A useful oil is extracted from the seed and is given with garlic and ginger after childbirth.

Curative Properties
This plant is used for constipation, dyspepsia, cough, asthma, nervous diseases, glandular enlargements of the spleen, piles, colic and various types of dropsy. The fresh juice of the leaves is cathartic and cooling. It is used for various eye diseases. The dried juice is often applied with lime juice for reducing swellings and promoting granulation in ulcers.
